Victor RC-M70 GX

Just received this week. (In one piece for a change this year!) In pretty good shape but can tell what is rust and what is gold on the grills.

Saw one on eBay, but had to stop myself from bidding on it. Good find, it looks awesome

The GX is such a quarky mix of the Victor M70 and a JVC M71. Fun to look at. That was the last one I needed to complete the set M70/Victor M70/M71/M75.

Oh i like it Rudey, very cool. I think the gold grills really elevate it. As much as i love the M70 she is a bit of a plain jane in standard form. Still lovely but plain.

Nice, I always love the radio dials on the Japanese boxes, so much cleaner with out SW.

Does it sound the same as a regular Euro M70?

Pretty much the same. It's a 100v box but the stepper I use is a 120v so sounds a little more powerful.

The grills aren't rusty. They are gold painted.

You mean gold plated? Lol.

I don't know how mirror-chrome gold came out as chrome-plated gold, sounds like a way to hide your money

The grills are gold but there are some rust spots on them. You can see from certain angles in the pictures. I'll get them rubbed down and repainted. I think the correct colour is a kind of flat gold.

She sounds good but one channel is a little weaker than the other.
