Looks like this box has some kind of DJ-controller in it. Maybe a karaoke function too?

EDIT: Just wheels for volume and microphone volume.

I believe Sansui was kinda high quality brand back in the 80's.

I remember seeing one of those vintage-style 'Spirit of St' Louis' radio sets advertised in the back of a magazine (Smithsonian perhaps). Guess they'd forgotten the fact that Lindbergh opted not to carry a radio on the flight that made him famous - he'd wanted that much more weight savings for fuel.

Reminds me of thumbing through the AirMall catalog before the days of smartphones and tablets.
You could order a "Spirit of St. Louis" radio, a globe mini-bar, and an eyelash curler from the comfort of your partially reclining seat by picking up the Airphone in front of you and swiping your Sprint Long-Distance card.
Oh, and this thing.:

That's an MM799. I just saw the service manual on ebay, thought it looked familiar.

ThaT pic the original poster put into the post I answered is actually my box from when I was a kid growing up in detroit.
That was my headboard. I posted that pic on stereo to go quite a few years back so i was surprised to see it coming to another place so many years later.
I couldnt remember the make or model of it so I was hoping someone there might help.
wow, so many years later lol

I reall y do miss that box.

lol so do I. Its actually a very small machine. I bought the one in that pic at a dept store called King's Way in detroit on east grand blvd .
the store was located in the old packard plant.
I forgot the year though.
it was sometime between 79 and 82 if memory serves me right.
