Looks to me as though, Freddie, you simply have what is known as great taste in the finer things life has to offer. ;-)

Many happy valentines days to come, my man!

Thanks Ken! Hopefully I can convince her that on our anniversary and Mothers Day that I deserve a boomer then as well. Can't use "great wife" and "super mom" comments without being married to me!

She really does a fantastic job of looking out for me when it comes to my hobby and she knew I had wanted the Hitachi for some time. :-D

Freddie, there is nothing better than pictures of beautiful women with beautiful boomers
Thank you and you are absolutely correct there! And I have the best, most naturally photogenic lady available IMHO.:-D

Much 'Preciated SK! These Hitachi's are really under rated because of Hitachi's penchant for lacking punch. And now I have couple that disprove the typical Hitachi manner of sound. :-D

Not sure how I missed this thread...

I love reading threads where wifey is supportive! (She's a cutie too...nice work man!)

As for the Hitachi, damn, that thing is a mobile recording studio! That must have cost a fortune back in the day. Looks super clean and proper. Another great addition to your collection.

Thanks for the big ups Chris! I actually married "up" big time.

We are both lucky guys as we have understanding wives.

The Hitachi is awesome! I wouldn't say a mobile recording studio...that's for the Panasonic/National RX-A2 to fill. (And that really is it's main role...a PA system...)

I never thought I'd get good bass of a Hitachi that wasn't a 3D...and this does the 3D better as it is POWERFUL bass. :-D

Being I just grabbed one of these 9900W boxes today, I came across this thread. Man that thing looks cool. You have some sweet boxes there. I could not pass up the deal on this. Looks solid and heavy. 10Ds says something. Looks like these might be replacement speakers In the one I grabbed, hope they kill. $134 shipped. Can't pass that up. 9900.jpg

Congrats! You have scored a gem. Not original woof but they don't detract from the looks. I hope they are matched well to the unit though. :-)

Unboxing unit. Needs a minor clean up (suggest a polish for the metal)? This thing is small than what I like in a radio. It's solid heavy. The wieghted tuner know is fine and stout. Love that. The tuner itself locks right in and has a tight locking fm stereo. I did some line in Rikertron plays and I must say. This thing is one of the best sounding pounding solid boomboxes I have heard. Looks like I'll be looking to grab several more of these. Lovely unit. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FKedhi_bTh4

Yeah the sound is nice and clear on these. Not a lot of bass at low volumes, but nice and tight and gets better when you crank it.
