Kip Winger is actually pretty damn talented.

And it's funny you mentioned Triumph................I liked them too, but I had people telling me Triumph was nothing but a ripoff of Rush........I couldn't win......

For the 100th time, TRIUMPH is NOT a rip off of RUSH. Yes, they are Canadian, yes they are a 3 piecer's and that's the end of it. Both bands ROAR for their own reasons....but Triumph was a Heavy Metal Band and Rush is a Progressive Rock Band.

Sorry, I got a little wound up there.... :annoyed:

Where I grew up in the East Bay boomboxes were as popular as ipods are today. Every one of my friends had one! We carried them everywhere, the park, the mall, on the bus, everywhere. Some of my most fond childhood memories involve a boombox. We would have boombox battles in the park behind my house on a regular basis and we knew which boomboxes not to mess with...the M70 being one of them. Friday night football games at the local high school were also a very popular place for boombox battles because you would see kids from other areas with their radios blaring. my playlist was mostly r&b, hip-hop, electric funk, and rap. Didn't do metal but I had several friends that were heavy into KISS so it started to grow on me. So the West Coast definitely represented...besides we have the best year round boombox weather on the planet... :-D

YES! Very few times out of the year did I look out the window and say "I think I'll leave her home today".

If it was cruddy in the morning, but I knew it was gonna clear up, I would wrap my radio in a big plastic bag and put it in my back pack then pull it out later in the day.

I always used to think of New York and the Break Dance scene when the word "BoomBox' comes into play, but now I realize these things were EVERY WHERE. I know it sounds stupid, but I honestly had no idea kids in the Mid West were blasting, or kids in Germany, or kids in OZ and god for bid kids in Canada!
