I closed out my year by doing a small purge on boxes and changing the whole way I collect these beautiful machines. I had wayyyyy to many boxes that needed work, too many boxes that I really didn’t like that much (but bought because it was a good deal) and too many boxes that I never listened too. So I re-examined my whole collection and decided to focus on the boxes I really, really wanted to keep and love. Buying the Conion last month really made me consider this. I mean why have an orgee with a fine women and average women when you can just stick to all fine women??? lol
I made sure all of ,y boxes had batteries or were plugged in. I wanted to be able to walk in to my office when, grab a tape (or m93 plug) and listen to whatever box I wanted without having to scramble around for a chord and a outlet to plug it into.

What I got rid of-
Sharp 8686, Sharp 8585, Sharp 8989 (had an extra one) ,GE 3-5286A, JVC –M50 , CEC OL 7540, MacDonald 4010 , Akai AJ-435 ,JVC RC 646 and Hitachi TRK-8190H

What I still have –
Sharp 777, Lasonic 931, JVC M70, JVC M90 (Thank you Vladi123456), Conion 100, Sanyo M9935K, Conion CRC-H58F, Sharp 8989, Sony CFS-500, Toshiba Rt s801, Hitachi 7020, Panasonic Rx-5050, Magnavox D8443, Helix 4636, Toshiba Rt 100S, Clairton 7979, Tisonic PR-6000,

What I’m working on –
1. I gotta ‘ Rising 20/20 that I’m putting Lasonic Speakers inside of and I have a JVC 838 that needs a TON of work and cleaning

What I still want –
Lasonic 920 and a JVC 550 are the main two but there are others. The problem is that I don’t have any more space if I really want to stick to my “motto” about having them ready to play at all times.

Sidenote *I mostly buy the small boxes for paint experiments-lol*

Will you accept a compliment from a lifetime Cowboys fan?

Nice collection and I understand as I did the same. Heck, even some of what you gave up are the upper medium end of the crust.

HA Dallas! NOOOOOOO!!! lolol Its cool man. lolol The couple boxes of truly miss is that JVC M50. It was in mint condition (I bought it on ebay for 100 bucks because it was a newer seller and sold it for almost 400 bucks on ebay) That and the CEC OL 7540 could crank with the best of them. (never understood why that isn't a more popular box)

You got a great collection! 👍 What's the status of your Rising 20/20? Have you gotten the Lasonic speakers? Which ones did you get/ are you getting? How much? I've thought of doing the same to one of my Risings and am dying to know what the result is.

I had an old 931 that had issues, so I took the speakers out to put them in the 20/20. But first I’m going to gut it, clean it, and paint it black (except for the bars, buttons and grills)
