Hey there everybody, this month is the official 1 year mark for my Boombox/Ghettoblaster collecting addiction. Lemme tell you it has been one crazy year
I have accumulated so much more than I could have ever imagined. These were found on Epay, some from Craigslist, and others were picked up semi locally, or bought from other members here. Time sure flies when your having fun.
Last year, I bought my 1st boombox which was the silver LASONIC i931btq. That lit the fuse, and the fire was ignited. Along with acquiring a collection of boomboxes, vinyl and cassettes, the absolute best part of it all was having the opportunity to meet so many cool people who share, respect, and love this hobby as much, if not MORE than I do. Thanks to all of you guys that have crossed my path in person, and here on Boomboxery
Its been an a pleasure hanging out, and meeting some of you. You all know who you are.
I've learned SO much, and even fixed a few of these gems along the way. ( I even surprised myself a few times ) And although I didn't stick to my new years resolution of "Fix more and buy less" I can't say that I regret ANY of my boombox purchases. I have plenty to keep me busy for a while as far as belt repairs and other various little fixes, but I'm still always on hunt mode!
Instead of pictures, I decided to shoot a quick video to share my collection with everybody. Excuse the quality of the vid, I used my Galaxy S5, so the sound quality is not top notch. Most of the boomboxes in the video are all playing the same jam through my Whole House Transmitter except for the black Emerson on the top shelf, the little GE, and the 4 boomers that are in front of the closet on the floor. A Panasonic SG J555 was given to my daughter for Christmas last year, 3 smaller boomboxes were sold to Dr DER a few months back, and one other radio that is not in the video is a LASONIC LPC-88 that is new in the box, but stored in the closet. I forgot all about it until after I recorded the vid. But anyways, Enjoy! And thanks again to EVERYBODY on this badass forum that makes Boomboxery what it is!
PEACE!
