Sometimes I wonder if Peter has a shop where he builds all of these boxes.
That digital display looks to be a Burroughs Panaplex plasma display. They were used in very early desktop & handheld calculators. They require an internal voltage boost of over 200 volts to fire the plasma gas. A lot of electronics is required just to operate that display.Reli said:I have that box, I brought it to the meet......It sounds pretty good, looks military, and has a cool digital frequency display

don't hate me man

Really? Hmm, well the display comes on instantly as soon as I plug it into the wall, and there doesn't seem to be a power spike of any kind.jimmyjimmy19702010 said:That digital display looks to be a Burroughs Panaplex plasma display. Son of a bitch you mean I didn't pay attention? I didn't have enough time for half the boxes there. :'-(

The coolest thing is, it's got a light sensor right above the display, so that it can get dimmer at night.
And by the way, these boxes are found quite often on Ebay Germany.......Probably at least 2 per month.
Very heavy.....21 lbs
13 inches tall, and 6 inches deep
