So a guy posts on one of the FB groups he's looking for an 8" speaker Fisher Boombox. I said I have a super clean fully restored 480 and posted a pic. The guy lives less than hour drive from me and wanted it shipped. I told him I'd prefer he pick up or for less than shipping cost I would bring it to him and collect cash. He's saying he would prefer Paypal and shipping....... OMG is this guy for real?????

I'm just in awww about some people and the way they think. He says " oh I've shipped a couple with no issues". And then to top it off dumb A$$ James Pierce gets involved in conversation. In all honesty I couldn't care less if I sell it or not because it's an awesome unit

Thank goodness you are moving away from that kind of crazy down to Florida. Don't get me wrong, Florida is crazy too, but it's a better kind of crazy.

It's best to steer clear of folks like that anyway. Don't sweat it.

Thanks Bobby Crazy is everywhere that's for sure. I'm ok though cuz at least I didn't lose any money over it

How's the buyer going to pull the classic Paypal 'partial refund' scam if he's been forced to pay cash???
C'mon Bill, you've got to play the game in this modern world of ours.

Honestly that's the way I prefer it too. I never have more than $100 cash on me, otherwise I'd have to go to an ATM. Plus, going to a stranger's place with cash is a safety concern to some people.

Plus some people are just loners, lol

Pickup and Cash makes for too "permanent" of a transaction.

PayPal is the transaction that lasts forever. Or a good 6-months anyhow. Anyhow, if someone is close enough to me to pick up a box but insists on PayPal and shipping over cash and delivery -- I'm running for the hills.

Lol oh it gets better guys. Now he posted he's in Boston and got a 480 from pawn shop. He posted this pic on fb and I looked up pics of 480's on internet and found same pic posted by another guy. LMFAO. Then he states he's still looking for a big Sony or Fisher for the gym. What a dumb A$$. Lol. I can care less cuz I didn't lose anything but are there really stupid people like that in the world. LMAO 😆😆😆😆IMG_4673.PNGIMG_4672.PNG

That is correct!
I prefer a public place to meet the seller or buyer in day time where they have video surveillance.

James has to cling to anyone that doesn't know him

For all the effort it takes to facilitate a scam like this, you think this guy could make a decent living at a legitimate job!

I don't get it, what's the scam? The first guy stole a pic from the second guy, is all I'm seeing.

I'm not sure it was a scam or not but he's trying to say he bought the 480 and used someone else's pic. The whole thing was a joke because he lives less than hour from me. Shipping something that heavy is dangerous and not wanting to pu or have me deliver for less than shipping is crazy in my opinion. As for Paypal thing trust me if you want something bad enough you would be willing to go get cash.

Well the guy just sent me another message. He asked if we could meet in middle where I bring it to him but he pays me by Paypal. Are you kidding me??? The nerve of some people!!!!
