So in preparation for the 2018 UK Meet up in March it was decided there would be a 2017 mini meet this weekend at Docs house somewhere near the north pole. Im not sure of location except if was farking freezing so it was quite far north

Friday saw me arrive at the local airport after a short flight with HisRudeness arriving slightly later after a long drive and Northerner and partner Carol arriving soon after. Docs and Char made us instantly welcome and a big meal was prepared, we gathered around the table like one big family to eat, chat, laugh and settle in. As we sat there nattering and laughing i couldn't believe i had arrived mere hours ago as i think we all felt perfectly comfortable.

I think its customary to say nice things about your hosts here but genuinely, you could not meet a nicer, more honest, down to earth family.

After tea we moved in to the lounge where i managed to take loads of pictures of boxes and virtually none of the people....... just shows the level of boxes on display....

Saturday started off with bacon butties all round before more troops arrived, Davebush showed up first, nice chap and great to meet him at last. Soon after Nickfish arrived with partner Christine, really nice to meet Nick finally and he brought some real gems inc a boxed Superscope from 1979 as as mint as you like and a big Tosh WX1. Nick is instantly likable and has a real passion for these old things and given a chance i would of talked to him for many more hours/days!

A massive Curry order on Saturday night ensued with lots and lots of beer consumption followed by some UFC and lots of talk on boxes, wishlists, repairs, life, the universe and everything. It was a busy house this weekend and our gracious hosts took it in their stride and showed how it should be done.

Bloody epic.

I'm sure there will be other pictures to come, sorry i didnt photo any attendees, I dont like my photo taken much so don't tend to get people pics, there were some awesome ones on whats app so im sure some will surface!

I love that there's no conions or m90 ,there's other cool boxes to look at. Definitely nice variety in that collection.

Oh there were M90's there. I'd left my C100 at home. But yeh it's not all about them, lots of great boxes to play with :-)

Had a great time and Dave and Charlotte were excellent hosts :-)

Sounds like a very cool event. It’s weird how a group of people who have never met before can have an almost instant bond when you have a common interest.

You really need to be part of these meets to know the feeling.

Congrats guys,

James.... :-)

Solid reporting T-Ster!

Some real gems there and as always, in the best possible condition. I think you guys are stretching limits of the term "Mini Meet".

I agree James, when we had the 1st Vegas meet a few years ago, I had'nt met a few of the fellas that attended, but when we did finally meet in person, it was like we all knew eachother for years and everyone just bonded instantly like super glue :-)

Thanks for the pictures T-ster! Looks like a great time, and plenty of boxes to play with. Very nice variety!

Was a great weekend for sure.
We wee all desperate for a good nights sleep by Sunday night 😂
From knitting to UFC moves and everyone just chilling out, we passed the time talking boomers, listening to them and deciding what music we liked, though mostly electro was the choice.

It was great to catch up and looking forward to March.

That aiwa 968 is one of the best looking boomboxes I've ever seen. Just luscious.also that whole display is just awesome and I would be perfectly satisfied with that collection.
