I just wondered if I could hear from anyone with experience with the Toshiba SX-1000 on whether it sounds decent or not? It just doesn't look as heavy duty as the silver version.
*note: advise carefully as the right advice will see me purchase the item* :-D

Damn im not giving my sx for BB40 :-D . Its not build like a tank and is little bit late 80s , not so loud like wx , but damn it kills on low bass all others. The speakers are upgraded from the wx and sounds better. The bass is amazing. I mean low, soft bass.Full logic mechanic work like a charm too. It is heavy and thick plastic body. The problem is - after listen to her all other boomers sound like they have no bass at all :-D .
It is not loud in any means, but the sound quality is best on the boomer for me. Wx can go louder and more pumpin bass , but far from the real quality of the sx sound. You wil love the combination of dark grey plastic with chrome. The aux input in the front is a nice too. Sure if we put some sound meter in front of her the freq of the bass will be the lowest on any boomer
Im stoppin here. Just go for her like now

Some pictures to help you decide  . Actually the build quality is the same like wx ( i use to have 3 wx-1 too  ) . Sx is my boomer of choice to record tapes too. Try it wit aux and some bassy tech house. You will be amazed  . Speakers ( all 3 of them including the radiators) are lot , i mean lot lot better than on wx  They look almost the same on pictures ,but actually just the shape is same  . And i just realized what all probably think - no, no is not a thin black plastic like lasonics &co

Duuude are you still hesitating ??? Just grab her. Or let somebody else down under to have it till is not gone. The passive radiators are insane tech invention. No idea why they don use em largely  . But the bass is like black silk bed sheets whit cool chick (or two) in them :-D .

Hahah nice one. I didn't want to pry about specifics of it's location.
I just wanted to know if it was local or not as I was unaware of any being sold in .au.

Rock On.

Yeah I figured it would've been assumed, I reckon the only way some of these beauties made it to oz was with immigrants sometimes and we get SOOO lucky when 25-30 years later we grab the score... I guess similar to when folks down under score original oz-delivered C-100Fs.., weren't those things extremely scarce here even when new? Someone told me they were prize giveaways and mail-orders only? Anyway. I don't mind buying the odd cutie from OS from time to time as my son or whoever the lucky devil is that gets to own them will have some really good gear.
