Hello, i have problem with my Toshiba BomBeat SF-36 double stereo radio recorder, it´s fully restored with new belts etc, but when i hit play button or rewind button, i hear static sound from both speakers, sounds like wind blows into your ears, i´ve cleaned tape head and also those small copper contacts that activate engine, but this doesn´t seem to do it. Any help ?

Thanks in advance,

Valter

By the record bar you mean the switch on motherboard that when you start recording then it switches on ? I don´t seem to find that switch tho.

Clean the record bar very good

The longest switch you see on the PC board is the record bar. When you press record this switch gets activated. Squirt contact cleaner inside the switch from both edged of it and push the end of the switch like over 20 times.

I know what you mean, but SF-36 doesn´t have it. When you press REC button then it pushes those 2 copper contacts together. I´ll clean them all thorougly and see what will happen next.

I fixed this by replacing one screw, the one which leads to cassette deck ground or shielding. Now works just fine. Thank you guys !

Very glad to hear you fixed it!☺☺☺
Yes, that´s a nice item for sure, when i got it then it was in REALLY bad shape, it looked ugly outside, speaker wires were missing or just chopped off for some reason, screws all looked bit different so it means that someone has fixed it before and antenna was broken from stan but now it works just fine, replaced belts, cleaned all the pots, volume pot is bit tired, you can feel it juggling there inside. Plays and records as in the good old 80´s, Space Wide enchancement makes everything even more better. Sadly it´s missing a battery cover :/ Included also a photo of it :)12204592_909202859160919_1881047818_n.jpg
