Today's find, GF-777

This beast is my 3rd box after the gf-9191 and 9292.
Like the other two, I found it by digging thru the old electronic shops in Istanbul and 20 euro was fair enough I guess!

One deck door is missing, as well the mixing button and 8 screws in the back of it.
If you have any of spare of these parts, please let me now!

Really hope I can get it back to life!

Cheers!

I also hope you can get this back to life, the way this BB's been treated should be an arrestable offence! :-/ :police:

Oh, wow! You can definitely bring that one back to life. It might take a while, but it will surely be worth the effort. First off, give it the Full Patron! ;-)

Looks like a lot of work to get it back to blasting but totally worth the effort.

Wow, this is nice find.
I hope you can restore this boombox, but you need many parts.
Another option is sale for parts.
Goodluck.

Thanks for all the positive vibes in here, really appreciated

My first project will be go get her back home to Denmark together with 2 other boxes as I'm moving back soon. Seem to be harder than I expected when I took her under my wings, it's huge!!

Meanwhile trying to get my hands on all the missing parts so I can start as soon as possible when back!

This is how she looks after the flight from Istanbul to Copenhagen, even though I used double cardboard boxes and lots of bubble plastic between and around before putting her in a suitcase checked in as fragile luggage

Would love to hear your opinions if it's still worth try to restore or better to donate it for spare parts?

Restore, definitely
I agree. Cracks are easy, cosmetic repairs. If those pictures show the only damage, you should be able to restore that quite nicely. Just remember to have patience. Do not try to rush.

I hate to see this happen to these boxes but it's almost unavoidable because these things are too heavy for their own good and they break in the same f****** places every time you should really consider building a lightweight wooden crate to ship a Boombox like this it saves money in the long run and it only has to be slightly bigger than the radio itself made of thin plywood it's still tougher than paper or cardboard.

See if you can find some testors model Master liquid cement with a metal syringe applicator tip it's absolutely the best glue you can use to fix this there are stronger plastic welds but they alter the plastic the model Master liquid cement does not distort the plastic but it does weld it together.

Nice to hear, I will definitely give it a go as soon as I have finished the other on going projects.

Jah, will build something like that if I ever need to travel/ship a box like the 777 again. The other boxes I took was no problem as I could take them as hand luggage :-D
Testor Liquid Cement is this the liquid cement you are talking about? I found some model liquid cement in Istanbul that I tried to use to repair broken screw posts but it didn't work out well at all.
