Tired of your batteries popping out?

So, I had this 'McGyver' moment last week or so. I just hate it when I open my Boomer's battery cover, only to have my batteries fly out and all over the floor/ground. I don't have any of those cool original Boombox battery sleeve holders that came with certain boxes. I went to a local hardware store and bought a standard 4 ft. tube light protective sleeve for my D cell battery boomboxes. I had to purchase the "NARROWER" sleeve because the larger standard one is too wide for the D batteries. This is what I did next. I hope many here will benefit from this. This is best for the outer row mainly cuz it's difficult to get the tube into the back row due to the outer row's coil. If this has been covered already, then I won't fell so cleaver any longer :annoyed: Here are some pics (Cause we all like Pix)

I think Ira did that with sheet plastic some time ago but your idea for a preformed tube is even easier.

DOH!!!! Yeah it cost me like 3 bux or so. Be sure to take a 'C' or 'D' battery with you to the store for your right fit. The 'D' flopped around too much in the large tube but was just a hair too wide for the narrower tube so I ran a slit up the length of the 11" tube to drop them in. It holds them nicely. It's a very low tech and quick for on the go.

Duck tape adhesive residue can be easily cleaned off with mineral spirit.

I can't afford the batteries, let alone the duct tape
