AFAIK, no unfortunately.
Sharp GF-508 (Japanese domestic counterpart of 9696)
though does have standard RCA line in.

No it doesn't have any CD inputs and I have been told to never use phono inputs for CD. But the 9696 does have a mic input on the top that I use for llistening to a cd player or iPod.
