This is typically stuff that happens in the US . These people don't have respect for other peoples stuff.
Two boxes i bought came from China . The other side of the world . No problems
Packages that are being sent in the US that have to travel for a few miles get f#cked up . Man oh man

the behavior you see in the videos, you can not defend in any way.Nobody should do their job so badly,I do not take responsibility for the bad employees, but on routes with high volume of packages should go 2 people per truck,

That is some scary stuff!! We are paying good money to have items shipped and abused. People should take more pride in their work.

That's why I use USPS. I'm in the middle of a problem right now. USPS got right on it. I expect a resolution shortly.

Haven't lost one yet ... (knocks on head) ... ;-) My regular postal carrier ( and her subs) bring packages 50 yds down the driveway, then 50 feet up the walk to the front porch where they check to make sure I'm home. Only then will they, if I'm not there, make me pick it up at the post office.

UPS & FedEx leave it on the porch, right out in the open.

But if people insist, I ship it their way. Customer always being right and everything. :-)

I don't know the exact pay but I understand those drivers get paid fairly well.

I think a couple of those videos were staged, especially the first one where he gives a middle finger to the camera.

:agree: I have only had problems with UPS and Fed Ex in the past, that's why I always ship USPS if I have to ship  I still don't trust any of them and would prefer to pick up but you can't always do that

I would like to think that the people in the videos are the exception to the rule, but who knows.

The truth is, if you want an item to survive, wrap it up like it's going through a bomb test! :-/

But even then, if a big radio in a padded box it thrown, parts inside like the power supply will still break off!

No doubt about it...that damn transformer will wreak havoc inside the shell no doubt.

I can't even bear to watch those videos I'll take your guy's word for it!

not defending these guys actions AT ALL

BUT - speaking as someone who has worked for a parcel delivery service (2 years PARCEL FORCE) - I know that the modern multi drop driver is under huge pressure from the shift manager to "clear" all parcels in the depot - and also to clear the MINIMUM expected of them on their daily multi drop route.

They all have performance charts - and these routes are getting bigger as companies try and maximise their revenue - whilst reducing manforce

Anything brought back CAN affect stats that the company base their performance on - which effects the poor drivers bonus

The drivers HAVE to clear ALL their route in one day - anything brought back is counted against them

IT'S these ridiculous metrics that make certain drivers seemingly "lose" all common sense - and rather than wait for a customer to come to a door - they would rather ring and leave the package - and move on to the next house.

We were taught as drivers NEVER to leave unattended packages - but customers always tell us - just leave it if we're not in (to save them the trip down to the depot on a Saturday to collect)

A lot of packages have business SLA's like before 8/9/10/midday - and if these targets/promised are missed - the driver is penalised - so less care is taken with NORMAL deliveries

And don't kid yourselves about these drivers being overpaid - OK I can't speak for UPS - but when I worked for the Post Office - you're paid a little bit better than minimum wage (even worse if you work out the hours some of these guys do (6am start and a 7pm finish)

i'm NOT defending actions - just the terrible way lower income people are pressured to do a job so SAHREHOLDERS see the benfit due to increased revenue

anyway - WAS that snow melting?
:-P

I know what you mean, I worked for UPS for over 11 years and 5 of them as a delivery driver. I saw lots of stuff being damaged inside plant and out... Even back in 80's and 90's when I was there they expected so much from employees... But the customer pays the salaries and without them your out of a job
