Wow, all PM's deleted? With all due respect (and this is difficult to say because I know you have done a ton of work setting up this new board and the new features), but I think that a warning PM sent to everyone would have worked better.

I know you posted a warning in the "Shop closed" thread, but that wasn't an official thread, it was redbenjoe's.......so only a fraction of members are going to click on it (no offense redbenjoe, but.... ). Kind of like only a fraction of members would click on a thread about a Conion if they don't care about Conions.

I myself remember clicking on it once last week, and it had maybe 3-4 posts at the time, none of which seemed important....... just kind of post-whore-ish. The only reason I clicked on it again (today) was because I noticed my PMs were gone, so I did a search for "messages" and found blu-fuz's post about it.

Sorry to be negative, but it's just a shame to have all that information lost

Looking back, I have to say that you are absolute correct. I should have made a separate post about it.

All of that information is not lost though. The conversion script would not process the old PM data correctly, but it is still sitting in the old database.

I want to say thanks for getting my pile of PM zip files to me. I actually was going to use them to start logging the feedback into the feedback section with a more structured layout. I have since sorted through one of the zip files and will go through the rest.

One other thing I would like to ask about is the search function. Can you set it up to find searches with only 3 letters or numbers? Example, if I search JVC 838 it says "
The following search terms are not allowed and were removed from your query: jvc,838"

As we all know, a lot of our searches need to be that short or we won't find things we are looking for and then will clutter up the forum with more threads that other threads already have.

Something else I like about the new site....

When your online and surfing the forums, if someone sends you a message, you get a notification pop up at the top of the screen! That's a cool feature!
