Thanks kraftmatic, funny thing is I just received another one today! The one I just got today is an Emerson CTR949B. This was the 1st boombox purchase ever back in the 80's. I found it on EBay, brand new in the box, only difference is that my original one was gray, but once I saw this in the box with OG owners manual and box, I HAD to have it. Im drinking a few beers with my wife listening to my Sir-Mix-A lot cassette as I type this haha. Had to at least test it out. This is the 1st box I dont have to clean! Heres some pics...

Great collection going SLO.

I have that little Emerson. Mine is missing the battery door. It's on the list of "To Do".

But I do use this little guy. It's got a proper line in and although it's no bass machine it gets pretty damn loud.

Mine needs a full cleaning and re belt. Maybe I will work on that this weekend...

Thanks, That little Emerson brought back so many good memories for me as a kid, fun times back then, I loved how new this one was, it was like a time warp back to the 80's. Man that Intersound holding up the Emerson is a BEAST! I Like that one, I'm putting that one on my "Too BUY" list haha...

This General Electric was thrown in for free when I bought the VZ.

JVC DC33 turntable boombox. Bought here from the one and only, skippy1969. I was told the original owner brought this home to the states from Germany. I'm the 3rd owner.

Lasonic LPC-88. This was found still brand new in the box, in an elderly Hispanic lady's storage unit in Yonkers, New York. I got it from EBay.

I love finding out the history of where these boxes have been. If these boomboxes could talk oh the stories they would tell...Peace!

Thanks skip, and like oldskool69 said, I am going to need more space or shelving real soon.

Lol, I sure did bro, head first! I'm going to slow it down and try to get all of the cassette decks working 100% on all my boxes. Most of my boxes have one cassette player that works, and one that sounds like the excorcist is trapped inside when playing a tape. Freaks me out. Time to learn how to change belts.

How big is that VZ compared to the 931 anyways? Ive heard they are a tank but wasn't sure how big they are in comparison.

Honestly when I brought the VZ home, it made my 931 look small, the VZ is a BEAST, a HEAVY frickin BEAST. I'll take a side by side shot for you soon so you can see the size difference.

That desk looks so light and delicate but it's obviously been reinforced with hidden steel box sections as there's a VZ2K on top of it and nothing's been broken or crushed! ;-)

Hahaha ;-) Yea the shelf is small but mighty to hold up this tank of a Boombox, so far so good!

Here you go trippy. I don't think the pictures do the VZ justice when it comes to its size. Its pretty dam big. But here's a few shots anyways to give you an idea of the height and size of it compared to my 931. hope these help.
