Few thoughts:
1. We do not own our boomboxes. We are their "Current caretakers" and there will be many collectors after us, using our boxes. for this reason I do not mod the rare boxes, and if I need to, I try to make it reversible. I do not engrave my name either, an old 80's common thing to do.

Any replacement parts are carefully considered. original is best. All boxes are plugged into surge protectors.
2. ebay prices: too high for the ' in the wild' finds. why are we paying full price, as collectors, for boxes found in an attic stored for 20 years, when we have restored ones among members? Ask members first before heading to the bay.
