The miniature world of railway modelling

This year my model celebrates its 15th anniversary. I can't believe that so much time has passed.
On the occasion of the anniversary, I decided to post a few photos.
I usually take photos during the day so that it can be seen clearly, but I have a lot of such photos.
That's why I took evening photos with the lights on:

You put a lot of work into your railroad layout. I love the "night" pictures with the street lamps.:yes::beer2:

Do you have any plans to expand the layout like Miniatur Wunderland? Well... maybe not quite so big. :-D

Thanks for the positive comment.
Unfortunately I live in a small apartment and don't have the space for a bigger layout.
I'm lucky to have this one. I can only dream of something bigger and more beautiful.

I agree with Bobby. Those steet lamps are legit for real. It truly looks like you are flying above a town at night. Very nice work!

:thankyou: for the positive comment.
Christmas is knocking on the door and it's time for you to take your old trains out of the boxes.
I need to run my new little train at some point. The only issue I have now is, I would need to put my cat in the closet the moment the train comes out of it. That thing wouldn't make one full circle before being pounced.

I didn't forget about you this year. I was over at my moms for Christmas and she already had most everything pulled out of the closet for decorations. For the first time in a long while, the very back of the closet was accessible. In the far corner not disturbed for many years was the American Flyer train of my dads. It is now 70 years old. It worked last time it was run 25 years ago...lol.

I took a picture of it for you. This is the blue comet style engine. And there are 4 cars that light up and show people sitting at each window when running.

Thought you might get a kick out of seeing this.

Thanks for sharing these photos.
I know that American models are quite different from those in Europe. It is interesting for me to see them.
I assume that while you were looking at them you were taken back to your childhood, to better and calmer times.
I wish you all the best for the new year 2026.

You can also check out this winter model made in Germany. Its owner also participates in the videos.
I see such videos for the first time and they have become very interesting and unique. Enjoy watching:

Looks awesome.
We had a Tyco train when I was young.
I remember it had a Shell Oil tanker and a Baby Ruth candy bar box car along with some others.
I used to put it together every now and then.
The clips that held the tracks together were always loose and would drive me nuts.
I still have it in a box in my basement.
It hasn't been out in probably 25 years or more.
