I'm hesitant because I don't wanna start a whole other line of collecting. What do you think will be the other models. I can make out an M70 and of course a Conion from the silhouettes at the end... The third might be a 931? Would love a Discolite.

I think this is awsome and such a fantastic project ! come on who can afford a real M90 but the rich and very lucky few ! £4000 upwards for a boombox is insaine its a tape player not gold sometimes i think it is taken way to far and then really spoils it and takes away the fun and joy in this hobby passion love for these things ! We are not in the 70s or 80s anymore ! If i was to go out in the street or town and blast out some MEGADETH im dam sure i would get done for noise pollution & antisocial behavior just like at a free techno party in the woods or on the beach ?? Hence Walkmans horried mp3 players evil Ipods and awfull smartphones and such ! The days of breakdancing in the streets is saddly over ! Well i dont see it on the streets of the uk anymore ! Sadlly not much if anything cool is made anymore like these awsome now old Boomboxes and stunning stack system seperates ! It really gets to me how its all gone cheap and crap through away stuff you get now ! So when i see an awsome project like this im instantly in love with it and really want one as soon as i can get my hands on one as i really dont have £4000 upwards lol for a real M90 why would you pay that for a tape player really ??? I could go and buy a second hand BMW for that ! RepliTronics you are amazing for this glad someone is doing this for the fans of these beautiful Boomboxes id so put one in my Boomroom & on the back seat of my car ! Well done . Im so buying one when i can love it .

Just wanted to pass on some info...I have seen, touched, and heard the mini M90 in person. It is incredibly accurate in it's design. It has telescoping antennas. A working FM tuner with scrolling tuner dial. Seperate bass, treble, and balance knobs. The cassette door even opens. This company really went above and beyond to make this look exactly like an M90. I was honestly surprised at the detail and sound. This little thing has surprising bass! For $65 it is a no brainer purchase for me. I bought 2 in fact. It helps keep the culture alive so I support it.

Re create the m90 to exact spec and charge £500, that is what i would do, might put an end to these crazy m90 prices
Considering the molds for a full sized M90 will run you $20,000 it would be impossible to sell it for $500 if you plan on breaking even. $1,500 plus would be more accurate and we know collectors are generally too cheap to pay that amount.

Plus if it was full size, people would demand a working tape deck, but the only decks being manufactured today are low-quality ones like the one in the GPO Brooklyns and Ions. And that would just disappoint everyone. There's no way in hell a re-make of the M90's original high-quality soft-touch deck could be designed from scratch for an affordable price.

This is a great gift opportunity. It's affordable, and everyone can make use of a Bluetooth speaker, so why not give them one with some actual style, instead of a boring, soul-less JBL or Beats?

:agree: :agree:

Is it just available on kickstarter?
Yes. The same company has been doing small-scale replicas of coin-op video games for a while now. Very high quality stuff.
