Hi everyone-I bought a JVC RC-M-60JW about 8-10 months ago and in beautiful condition.
BUT after I first tested it the power switch fell into the sarcophagus and I wasn't happy! :-O  :annoyed:
After fixing it I also noticed that there wasn't hardly any power coming out and would die out with a little time.
Well I have 4 M-60's so I took one apart & transplanted all boards and power supplys & even the cassette controls & guess what? The same!! :-O
So I took out the tester(should have done that in the first place but I thought it was power supply related)- and it was but after all this hullabaloo and transferring parts boards and what-not from a good working M-60 I went and took the power switch out as my voltages weren't what they were supposed to be coming from the power switch! :hmmm:

So I noticed that all the wires were on and good I noticed the little toggle switch wasn't opening all the way!! :-O
So after finding that out I totally rebuilt the switch by taking the little brass half moon bendy thing and putting it back in totally tight & putting the switch back on the assembly where the peg goes into place and it all lines up & =SUCCESS!!!! :-D
It's all good now except the deck which needs a diode on the circuit board for the deck and that will get replaced later when I find one.
It will work if you quick jump the circuit where the diode was so that will fix the deck!

I'm just so psyched to have my M-60 working powerful & loud now!
Just waiting for the JB weld to cure to keep the swich assembly in place.
I'm happier now & so is my M-60
Have a good one-Jeff.! :-) :-D :surf:   :choco: :breakdance:

Congrats Jeff!

Not sure what's going on with your deck.So you'll have to tell me what'd
going on as these 2 motor full logic decks can be tricky to work on as
Freddie will attest to.

Usually it's the 2nd.motor that doesn't kick in or it's a resistor.
Hopefully maybe another member or Freddie can help as he has one
of these.
Good luck. :-)

It may be the wiring in the back. I can't figure out where the 7 or so wires plug in. Really need someone to shoot up a picture of the m60 without the back cover on.

I put a fresh belt on it and all the play ff and rew work I'm just getting a nasty pop pop pop noise out of the woofers.
