:hi: D! And don't worry about the size of your collection. We have all started small at one point. I'm in this great hobby for less than a year and I'm already halfway to 40!!! Got most of my grails real quick! It'll come just take your time and soon youll be more worried about space than the number of radios you have! Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride

Nice collection. I am also new here and looking at my very first purchase this weekend. I would say the reason for me And why I have started was to relive my late 80s b boying, And I am also disappointed in the quality of what is out there now. Why spend 200 on a new iPod dock that has 5 to 15 watts that will break down in a year ( I have burned three). Plus there is look, the feeling, the power of a older boom box. They also have a value that is unmatched by box store electronics.

I've put some thought into it, and decided that the title of my project Sounds very close to another piece I'm sure we've all heard of. Therefore, I have decided to Re-Title my Project.
GhettoBlaster: A Documentary. Biting is strictly prohibited, and I will have none of it. All videos, interviews, footage, and media that I've conducted, have, and will be used with the written permission from those involved. The film will not be a re-hash of pictures, clips or video moments you've seen before. This is Film will, be focusing on my journey into the world of the Boombox, and the Collector, and the evolution of them. Hope I didnt rub anyone the wrong way, or give the impression that Im setting myself up for failure. I've been havng a great experience meeting people, and receiving media daily from collectors and enthusiasts. This is what my film is about. MY experience, and those personally involved with it. Just wanted to Clarify some stuff.. I'm still a rookie with a dream. But dream is big, and the response is even BIgger.. Thanks Guys..

Thanks guys. :-D Don't be mistaken though, this is just a small video invitation to help people better understand what I'm focusing on. This was thrown together in about a hour with a simple editing program. I'm aiming to make sure that the film will be very in-depth, and "film festival worthy" (documentary category lol ) I've been getting some amazing photos and "self -interview" videos submitted from all over. it's been a pretty cool journey so far..Ive got a good story aspect, and direction that's bringing it all together. Tthat Blue M70 on your avatar is SICK!!! Mellymelsr!!!! ) I found 3 Boxes in one week last month and I am now the Proud owner of another JVC M70!! ( Goodwill - $19.95..W.T.F.!?! ) :w00t: :w00t: ..Only downside is that the Tape Buttons Seem to have been mashed in will not allow the Tape mechanism to operate correctly. :-/ Hoping to find someone who might be able to repair or replace the Mech, and Have it working like the other. Don't have the slightest clue of who still does repairs on Boxes. :hmmm: (suggestions??) It's also missing the tape plate cover..( why were those detachable anyways? :hmmm: ) Radio, and Line Ins work Perfectly , and the Sucker THUMPS Just as well as the other one..Thinking of doing a customization /paint process for the films sake, and giving it a "makeover" lol Maybe even paint an elaborate B-boy / Hip-hop scene that wraps around the entire box.. or even just restore it back to it's original self... possibilities = endless.. Idk. anyways, The midnight Oil is burning down in Austin, and I'm still asking anyone out there interested to feel free to submit any media that would add to the interest of this project.. Dok-

I am a Cincinnati-based writer - in fact, published a review of the Boombox Project in our local paper - and willing to help out if needed.

Ps. Don't let my frequent typos scare you - I am usually typing on an iPad here, and you know how that auto-complete feature can be... :annoyed:

...that is a steal, even for a broken M70. Thanks on the blue M70 (I have 2 more in custom colors)...there is lots of help here as far as repairs go. The M70 is surprisingly easy to take apart, you might just have a jammed mechanism. Don't be afraid to open it up and at least have a look. Download the M70 service manual from the manual section in this website and have a look. If you still can't figure it out there are several good techs on this site who will be happy to help you.
