Seriously, they sound good and I love the build quality but like most Sharps, they sound is quite... well, quite sharp and brassy. That's fine for me since I like classical music and brassy is what I want.

vladi you got a great deal there not that many collectors have this or the 555 so many will not know how good they really do sound, to be honest if the 9696 would have sounded like the 666 more than sure it would have been a total winner... i have the 555 but its missing that small alumi plate which has the alpd on it ,, i belive its known for these boxes to lose those plates alot ,,,so enjoy your new toy

Ira, there are two versions of GF-666. GF-666H, which is 14W, and GF-666Z, which is 22W. GF-555H is also 14W. GF-555E and GF-555XR are 22W.

i have the 555 but its missing that small alumi plate which has the alpd on it ,, i belive its known for these boxes to lose those plates alot ,,,so enjoy your new toy

My soon-to-come GF-666 is also missing the plate...
