Okay, I finally got the tapes.

We have been moving from one house to another all month, and my wife is living in the old house mid weeks because she hasn't yet changed jobs. She handed me the box this weekend. Apparently, it got here and was lost in the shuffle for about a week.

I recorded my songs on it last night and am ready to ship it to the next in line. I took pics of the two boxes I used, but they are still on the camera. Will upload them later.

I finished up the A-side of the first tape....., so who's next? :-D

JaeTee, did the tapes go to ford93 already as you suggested?

I also took two members out of the list because they have not been active after signing up for the travelling tape. Please chime in and correct me and you will be added again  .

No, I did not give the tapes to Juan. He came over one night, but that was when the tapes were still at the other house. In the end I thought it was best to let them go in the established order.

I agree about removing the inactive members, especially since they have no established history either.

I will mail the tapes to Blu_Fuzz

Hey, mmcodomino scratch me off the list I do not want to inconvenience the the rest of the members.

I know that the whole purpose is for the tape to travel from one hand to the other but in this case from US to Europe and back to US and then back to Europe?

I think the next time it should play out from country to country I believe that would be much easier for the members.

I apologize if this is taken to any offense.

Good luck and happy listening.

Juan.

I agree. I think shipping will be costly for many members to keep going from country to country. I think we should finish US, then send to either Germany or Australia and let them finish and so on. It's already travelled quite a bit and with customs being so hard it's gonna take a lifetime

Nah, let it drag out. There's no rush, ad the longer it takes the more conversation and picture-viewing etc we can all share. It doesn't cost that much to send such a small item here or there in the world. And then there's the sitch of there always being someone who was last in line in that country who has to pay more for postage than his/her cassette predecessors. Unless we use C.O.D ;-) :-D
I really like the idea of the tapes building miles and atmosphere as they traverse the globe. And it brings the worldwide boombox community closer together. It is much more exciting to receive parcels from overseas!I think anyway.

I agree! :agree:
It costs like 3-4€ (5$) to ship it from anywhere in the world to somewhere else around the globe.
Nobody is forced to enter this travelling tape thing but it surely is lots of fun and members get to know each other that way

And that way, traveling from one continent to another and than back , and the different music tastes will make the tapes lot more interesting. If i was in the list for example i would record some dirty tech house, some will record rap, some r'n'b some pure old disco and so on
