I am a total noo-b I was wondering if you guys can help me ... I am interested in buying one of the " GRAILS " such as a Panasonic 5350 or JVC/NATIONAL M70 / M90 etc ... to start off my collection with a nice heavy piece... I am confused if there is any difference between quality difference as far as the ones with chinese writing or japanese writing as compared to english ? and also is there a value difference or is it preference ? any inferiority or superiority between whats language its printed/ in ? ? thanks in advance !
Not any quality difference. But the Writing may or may not make a difference in price. It all depends on buyer. Most of the boxes with Japanese writing are 100v plus some, the tuners only go to 90 on FM. That's the biggest downfall to those

On another note I recommend not buying from China. 90% of the time the box is damaged in shipment and their descriptions are vague!!!
