It was a cold rainy day, so to make it easier on myself, I brought my compact to represent.
It was the only real life Boombox in the room so when I held it up, people immediately started snapping pictures.
Lyle Owerko is in California right now, but I did see Jamel Shabazz,
It was fun to get out of my town for a minute and visit some friends in New York.

Last tuesday I went to the exhibition in NY. Great to see how art and boomboxes match!! I ended up chatting with the director and scrolling through a few photo books of Jamel Shabazz about "the era". Fantastic stuff!! When you're in NY before the 9th, GO!!
