That's awesome Chris! Looks sick.

I was always curious... have you ever had a 931? Or not much a fan? I know I've heard many times Lasonics quality wasn't as good with those... but I'm still surprised you don't have any.

I have never owned a 931 and it's on my list to get, but I haven't jumped in on one yet. The prices always seem to be all over the place. In the last year I have done my best to try to learn about the differences, because there are so many versions. I'm not afraid to buy one that needs repair, but I don't want to get a version that I can't find parts for (Hemiguy come to mind, he couldn't find cassette deck keys for the longest time). Of course many have the broken function switch, which I have the parts for from a parts box 920 that shares the same piece. I know there is a 931 out there with my name on it. I just keep getting wrapped up in projects and it keeps getting pushed back.

But the answer is, YES, would love to get one at some point.

The question is, do you guys think a 931 would go in this stack?

I think it would go great, I love mine anyways, I think they pound and sound very nice... it would have to be on the top though.. as, although it is big, It'd be the smallest one in the stack!!! That's saying something, those things are huge!!!

I'd love to get a 975 some day in the distant future, I'd have my two "small" 931's and the big brother 975.

The only time I ever got to spend with a 931 was a few years back at the West Coast meet in Northern California at member Mellymelsr's house. He owns a PERFECT NIB 1st gen and it was amazing. LOUD is too small of a word. Great solid base, I think even better than the 935 / 951 / 975 series.

I agree, a stack of 2x 931's and a 975 would look GREAT!

nicely done chris  love the way the disco turned out :hooray:
I had the disco down off the shelf the other day, out in the garage working on my motorcycle. I still can't believe how great that turned out and how great it sounds. Thank you brother!

in my opinion it belongs in that stack . i would hold out for the 1st edition 931 , the best made ,heaviest ,most solid 931 ever made , and just when i thought it was done , the line in with an ipod cranked up makes this box among the best for bass ,i was shocked at the cone travel of those white speakers and i have seen these move many times before but never like on the 1st edition 931.

That's some really great information Floyd, thank you. 1st's gen's seem to always be more revered and 2nd gen's seem to be most available. 1st gen in good condition bring good money too, but if I have the money, I wouldn't be afraid to spend it.

I guess it's time to start saving up!

yeah and after all my hard work , scrimping and saving and looking around , i got one dirt cheap from skippy lol. then sold it to pay bills , life just ain't fair .

i guess if i get anything nice it will be by accident. but hey its better to be lucky than good sometimes.

i feel like that dude from the re animator movies , just hook up some electric to a corpse and hope for best .it takes me years to get 1 box finished building on the crumbs i start with .

It is better to have rocked the box and lost it, then to never have rocked that box at all

Those are some great pics. All, legendary in their own right. Now, all You need is the Wheely to put the "Cherry on top". Love them all.

I think the Wheely would have to be the foundation of which to build on.

One day I hope!

I did a similar "Black Stack" of all My Lasonics a few months ago. Pay no attention to that 'White' one. :-P Lasonics.jpg
