So, as my collection grows and I come in contact with more and more radios, I see some good design efforts and some really bad ones. One of the things that sticks out in my mind is antenna clips. Below are some of the best I have seen and some of the worst!
Please feel free to share yours!
Lasonic TRC-918:
Your basic standard double contact style. Not all of these work on all brands, but the 918 works great
Toshiba RT-9990SM:
Triple contact, very secure, works GREAT!
Realistic SCR-8:
Double contact standard style BROKEN!
Victor RC-838:
Solid PINCH design
Yorx BP 1000:
Double Contact, standard design....but they pulled it off ! ! !
Sony Transound:
Double contact design, Antenna broken, clips holdin'
Aiwa TPR-820:
Fragile Pinch style, Shiat antenna's Shiat clips
(not revealed yet shhhhh)
Sharp VZ2000:
Double contact style, One busted, one not
:annoyed:
Lasonic TRC-935/951/975:
Double Contact, some busted, some not.
:annoyed:
Pioneer SK900:
Double contact.... Pristine
Victor M70:
Double contact....33 years old ....PERFECT!
Lasonic TRC-920:
Without a doubt the greatest offender in the boombox world. I think I may have CANCER because of these antenna clips! The last time I remember seeing them in tact was in 1983, seconds AFTER I took my original out of the box....and seconds before they broke off!
PLEASE....I would love to see your best and worst!
