I remember that driveway, but you are soooo very remote; how in the world do you get any suckers... I mean customers to come up, you got some hot babe down at the main road holding Free T-Less car wash arrow signs, or do you just put up barricades at night funneling the traffic to you?

Wife says "What are you buying me?"

I said, "Take a guess! It has lots of knobs, lots of LED's and BIG Speakers!"

After a weekend of selling, this is what I witnessed.

One guy walks through with his small dog, dog pisses on everything! I yell out to him "Excuse me, your dog is lifting his leg on our stuff". He looks back at me, looks at his dog and walks to the next box where his dog does it again and THEN AGAIN, then he walks off to his car!

I had a folding bike for sale. They go for a range of prices, up to $500. Mine had $250 on it. I figured if it sold cool, if not, no biggie. A guy comes up and tells me "You must be on drugs". I said "What?". He proceeds to rip me a new one because "He" can buy a NEW folding bike on eBay for that price and that I'd be lucky to get $50 and that a lot of my stuff is overpriced! FIRST, almost everything I sold, sold for $1.00! I had some high end guitars, a high end amp and that bike out there. I figured "Hey, you never know!". Finally my wife told him "If you don't like it, don't buy it". He left upset.

Lady shows up, 3 kids, 2, 5, 7-ish. Smallest one has nasty snotty runny nose, wiping his hands on his nose, touching EVERYTHING! She leaves to go to my neighbors garage sale, ditches the kids at MY GARAGE SALE!
7 year old - "What is this?"
Me - "It's a hose clamp"
7 year old "Oh, cool"
7 year old - "What does it do?"
Me - "It clamps Hoses!"
7 year old "Oh, cool".
7 year old "What is this?"
AND SO ON for 30 minutes!

Same guy shows up both Saturday and Sunday at 6:30 am (we open for business at 8:00 am, we're not set up yet. Walks around for 20 minutes, touches everything. Picks out one item, $0.50, wants to pay with $100! I don't have any change yet, NO SALE. Two Days in a ROW!

Same lady shows up both days, 6:00 am, I tell her "We don't open till 8:00 am", she says "Yeah, there is a garage sale across the street, they said the same thing!". She says "Can I sit here in my car till you open?", I said "Two hours? Knock yourself out!". What I meant was "GO KNOCK YOURSELF OUT!".

I had some 1950's Coleman lanterns for sale. $25 each. Guy shows up, starts beating me up on the price, wants them for $5. I told him I couldn't do it. He leaves. Comes back asks me what my best prices was I said, "$20 for one, $30 for two". He says "$10 for two!" I told him no way. He leaves, comes back later. He asks me again about the lanterns, I told him "If you buy two at $15 each I will throw in a free gallon of Coleman fuel". He says "$20 for 4 lanterns AND the fuel". I told him I couldn't do it! He leaves, comes back and finally says OK to two lanterns and one gallon of fuel for $30. Took 5 hours!

It reminded me why I only do this every few years.

 every time they lowball u on the price, raise it by 10-15%...
Wether it's folks at rummage sales, thrift stores, or wal-mart, they are a different breed and way of thinking..
If a small dog pissed on my stuff it'd be punted like Baxter on the Anchorman movie!
