I Am Legend
i like it --
seems so unusual from the elegant telefunken designers bc they usually make only dark // colorless sophisticated looking products -
but this one looks cool and ' toyish '

And here she is, near fully restored! (Still need a handle). Easily one of my all time favourite designs!! Thanks a bunch Craig!

Rock On.

Pure 80s there baby!!

Those different colour control knobs are just wild!! Such a short lived fashion style but your Telefunken is probably the most convincing example I've seen in the Boombox sector.

Let's get a handle for this thing - it needs to be seen outdoors.

Congrats,

James.... :-)

That's just so.......80's kitch! It's good there are still enthusiasts maintaining the original machines like this, I imagine many dated so easily they've been consigned to the history hole in the ground.

It's interesting, I always felt like the bright 80s and wild neon designs were such an American trend. I never thought of how the rest of world saw the 80s! Even more interesting is that this is a German brand, I never associate Germany with bright colours.

Much better than what followed in the early 90's (flannel shirts, earth tones, horrible grunge music, and cars that looked like a worn bar of soap).

You nailed it there...we went from too much is never enough to I don't care about anything. I think we can put the blame on the 90's for killing the boombox.

See I'm on the other side of this. I never liked the crazy 80's synthesizer, window blind sunglasses, neon everything, big hair, etc. its a bit much to me and its just not cool. I like the less is more approach. But I fn love the shite rick does even though its not my style. I like it as a unique style but not the norm...know what I mean?

Ha! That's what I'm talkin about. I'll never understand why chicks back then wanted dudes that look like chicks.

Awe c'mon. The chicks dig the bad-boy look, plus I think the spandex aka shrinkwrapped package may have helped. What I never understood was the Michael Jackson infatuation!!
