Style with ease at the pool today.

I brought the Pioneer for its first outing today and I really enjoyed doing so.
It was fairly comfortable carrying it around, considering its weight with the 10 D cells installed is about 20 lbs.
The sound was very well balanced and it filled our area of the pool with some nice warm sounds.
For the few hours we were at the pool with the Pioneer , it was just a really enjoyable experience.
I often found myself just staring at this unit as it has such a unique design in all of its candy apple red glory!!!!
I hope to get it out again tomorrow if there is some time but I will be sure to use it for the rest of the weekend.
I will be doing a full video demonstration and review of it sometime in the near future so stay tuned for that!

That candy apple red is the bomb! By all indications it sounds as good as it looks. The ads make it look no so hot.

Well it certainly has the booms but its more of a tube rather than a box.
S I guess we could call it a boom tube

How's it comapre to your Altec outdoors?

I have not yet done any side by side comparisons as of yet but I can do this for those who want to know.
What is nice about the Altec is that there is a 7 band EQ that really helps you dial in the sound just the way you want it.
Also you have access to most of the features of the Altec without the need of the remote control.
I have yet to be able to make any kind of sound adjustments to the Pioneer because I am missing the remote control.
The remote gives you control of about 25% of features that are not accessible with the built in buttons on the handle.
In my eyes this was a major over sight / design flaw on pioneers behalf.
I should have my remote within the next week, so I will then Be able to do fair comparisons.
I can tell you that sound wise that the Pioneer probably compares pretty nicely to the Altec but the sound is not as tailor able.
So the Altec sound is definitely more adjustable.
As of now I'm not even sure you have bass / treble adjustments on the Pioneer. I read in the manual that there is loudness on/off and other sound effects that can be added, but not sure how and what the effects work on yet.

Here is a better view of the side. It almost kinda looks like a peace symbol but missing the third line that should be right down the middle at the bottom.
