I couldn't be arsed to check whither every one of the photos came from members here, but boy am I glad he included one of my favourite boxes in the list. :w00t:

Is the funny guy one of us I wonder?

Do they sell individually ? I asked but no reply.. I doubt anyone is gonna buy all of them. Some real rare ones in there I wouldn't mind owning !

Peace

Yeah I was thinking that.

An IT businessman out for profit with 100k to spend is not going to want to haul around old 80s inventory that he paid full retail price for.

Most boombox collectors are not going to want to spend 100k on some website that they have used for free for years.

This leads to a simple prediction: They will eventually split up the offering, once this one fails. Anyone with cash near that boombox museum will probably be able to walk out with some great stuff.

It's not a genuine listing. Please don't anyone bid and find that out the hard way! If you see a box in that list that you recognise, then chances are that it belongs to someone on here, including my B&Os and rest assured, they're neither for sale nor anything to do with the site that's allegedly being sold.
At first I thought that - in thae two cases - maybe they borrowed the images from flickR to illustrate what they have, but the seller wouldn't even acknowledge that each image is from a different member's location, they're in different hice all over the world.

Well the Stereo80s.com website homepage makes mention of the Ebay sale so unless the site has been hacked, it looks legit:

I wonder if I should copy the website for personal use, in case it goes down after the sale.

If it is legit, then they why aren't the images all from the same location in the same country? The annoying thing is that eBay don't care that they stole at least some of the pictures unless the pictures in question were from an active listing. Sadly, they copied the images before using them so the owners can't even edit the images on their hosting sites to say something like "this miserable f****r stole these photos from the flickR roll of w******sj**n so please don't be fooled!"

A few of those pics are Kraftmatics boxes..
..And others have appeared recently in other threads here too, but the image they used to illustrate the BS10 - when I asked for information - that was one taken with my own Fuji camera on the same table this laptop is stood on now and strangely enough, theirs has exactly the same chassis number and DOB as my black example. It's already been pointed out that a website is easily copied and besides; how can a website, which isn't a thing at all in the physical sense, own anything? It makes no sense. Where's the  emoticon when we need it?

Oh, I can't wait for that new guy to show up here for the first time with his freshly acquired 75 radio's looking for love and see how everyone here takes a big steaming CR@P on him

"You bought them all at once, while I toiled for years in the wild?" :annoyed:

Gonna happen! :-P

well they seller replied that they "maybe" selling individual radios.. I'm guessing not many pictures and high prices.. But hey they have a few that you possibly won't ever see for sale again.

Peace

But do they? Really? It's a website that's for sale. Imagine if someone cloned this forum and "sold" it on eBay, based on photos borrowed from legitimate collectors' flickR and Photobucket albums, there'd be some very disappointed person out there wondering where their massive quantity of cash had suddenly gone. How can it possibly be real?
Just because this forum contains hundreds or even thousands of pictures of members' boxes it doesn't mean that these boxes belong to Bobby, even though the forum does.

Please, does anyone know for certain that the site under discussion is owned by one individual and that this individual is selling the boomboxes (as illustrated on the listing by photos that belong to members of other fora)? It just doesn't make any sense.

I guess we should bring the list out now, and start declaring dibs, just in case.
