Last weekend i bought the STEEZ STZ-D10Z the biggest one from the new boombox-line from PIONEER. It has a total output power of 40 watts and that is something you can definately hear! MAN, this thing is LOUD!!..no its extremely LOUD!!!..but not only that..it sounds really crystal clear in high and very deep in low also at high volumes. Okay, i may not be your style of design(its looks like a vacuum cleaner from the fifties to me)and the lack of a FM tuner is also a point of discussion, but it beats every box i have heard so far. The price seems also a bit overrated(400 euros here in Holland) but this Pioneer is from an outstanding quality and finish and has an internal memory of 4 gb on board. And we musnt forget that the big boomers from the eighties also did cost a lot of money way back.

Plug in your USB-stick and you can throw in a party. My wife could hear my dance-classics old school a block away when i turned op the volume..

Yesterday i found myself the Audio Sonic TBS 1150. This machine is really huge! The sound is okay for the era when it was made and seen in perspective in the overall quality we are used from AS. Tapedecks are still working and the FM reception is still very good. The chrome rims and other chrome items are still in a very good shape en within a few moments i will start with cleaning the beast.

Tonight i am going to see(and maybe buy) try and test the TDK 3 speaker boombox.

Here are some new pics after the cleaning:

thanks for the report on the Steez, Groove. Does that thing run on batteries?

Yes Peter, it runs also on D-Cell batteries..so you can consider it a boom-box..the sound is really outstanding!

Is that a screen on the right side of the Pioneer? What can it display? I'm guessing not a touch screen right?

Hi Guys, Thanks for the nice comments..yes it shure looks like if it will become the new model of the Starship Enterprise when the new Star-Trek movie comes out..LOL! The (metal) red colour is the only colour available and also makes the vacuum cleaner look-a-like a bit futuristic. The display shows you the track you are playing and shows all the options from the box(it can mix your tracks automaticly-it searches for the exact bpm and you have the possebility to increase and decrease the speed of your track) and skip beats etc.etc. and there is a special computerprogram for on your PC that you can use to manage your music) The display automaticly switches off(i think for saving your batteries). There is also a remote control(creditcard model). I have also bought the TDK 3 speaker unit ..but at the first impression it cannot beat the Steez in (audio)performance. More later!
