OK guys .. I haven't done any mix tapes for 20 + years. Today I have started seeing as I have a heap of blank cassettes.

I have hooked up my computer to my new GF8989 using the line in .. and I am recording using SPOTIFY. I'm sure a few of you have done the itunes thing onto cassette. But using spotify is working great. I have access to so much old school hip hop and 80s pop that is perfect for boomboxes.

I can stream anything I want onto cassette and the quality is great. Anyone else a fan ?

My hip hop tape is starting with 'Walk this Way' ... man that is the perfect song to hear through a boombox  :-)

Time to get busy with some mix-tapes.

I've not used Spotify, as a few friends have said their a bit dodgey with how they treat artists, but who knows.

I'm a big fan of MixMeister Fusion. Great program that allows you to do beat matching transtitions as well as
EQ/Level changes for each track. It's not free but it's a killer app for mixing. I use it all the time for the biweekly
mixes I do, heres some examples:

I guess any program will get you rockin results though, it's all about music choice and arrangement more
than any kind of other skill I find.

Do you have plans to share your mixes? Would love to hear em.

Rock On.

i didn't have a plan to share the mixes ... but its a good idea. How would this happen?

I've been sharing some mixes electronically via spotify which is an easy way of sharing. The only problem with the free version of spotify is that you get an ad every 3 songs or so, which forces you to press pause so it doesn't end up on ur tape. If you pay a monthly subscription you don't get ads.

I think a mix-tape will be an awesome present, especially to a lady friend ;)
