Here's a guy that was the sound guy for many Discotheques of the 70's one of them was "Studio 54" which I was fortunate to have gone due to my cousin which knew the owner. Here was this 15 yr. old walking into a club that was famous for it's celebrities that would attend there. People that were in the line could not believe that was allowed! LOL!!

My apologies Richard Long which worked under Alex Rosner did the sound set up for "Studio 54".

Anyway here's a video of Alex Rosner its a bit long but it is very enlighten.

It was quite an experience walking through the dance floor watching people having a good time and I remember the sound was well balanced so well that you could have had a conversation without overly yelling at the person. The V.I.P. rooms were equipped with plush sofas and that's where my cousin was at hanging with beautiful women. It was at a time when people loved not only to have a drink but to also socialize and do a little coke. Thing about that which I know many folks are against that way of being is that there was no violence and no one was acting like a junkie. People were very discipline and yes you had those that wanted to really blast off the face of the planet but most were there to enjoy the music and have a good time socializing with others. It's sad that drugs always paint an image of negativity. I saw first hand how people were there and I can tell you they acted like adults and let me be clear I'm saying this not because I'm condoning it. Now I did see a few that had one too many drinks and they were very noticeable and were verbally obnoxious.

The club was just an artist dream and it was an opera theater at one time. I sat on the balcony looking down at the dance floor it was so cool being there. It's was an experience that I will never forget and it's sad that there are no pics. as you know when you're 15 yrs. old who was thinking about that! Those were the days and I truly miss it. I would do anything to relive that moment it was just magic. Comparing to today's world the 70's & 80's were much better. People were much more happier and enjoyed life.
