ok im going with this story
in oz we have bigger amp chips in the 300
there for they sound as good as the sony fh range
the 100 are like a sharp gf 800 range load and prode
if your listerning to DIDO the 100 is better
if your listerning to AC/DC the 300 is better
also woods speakers 300
as to plastic speakers 100
i did change the speakers in my 100 with the same speakers with black cones
but have put back the silver cones
but if i had to chose between the 2 i wood take the

i know on the rxc 100 the woofers and tweeters have some big azz magnets and the speakers boxes have wood strips along the sides of the boxes to screw the back panel too.
the foams on the woofers dry rot easily no matter how good they look if they are the originals they wont last long ,the good news is the parts cost less than $10.00 to replace both foams and are easily found on ebay.
i do know the rxc 100 is loud enough to make your ears ring when you crank her up

And if you don't like the stock speakers,you can do what I did with this spare RX-C100.
Put some home made speaker mounts on some AWESOME Yamaha speakers and really crank it up.........
I use this one out in my garage.....
