I got lucky today and found this cool discman. I've always wanted one of these.
It came with the original battery case so you could take it with you, just like a Walkman.
I couldn't get the battery pack to work with it. I bought new batteries and it wouldn't turn on. Any help?
So I took it off the case and used the AC adapter to turn it on and now it works!
Here are some pics:

Get a multimeter and measure the DC output of the battery box, easy to do and might provide you with a simple answer.

Measure the DC output from the terminal on the inside of the case (the one that connects to the discman) and of course with batteries in the case. You might have to make an adaptor to take a measurement as the plug is small and you need to measure across the + and - parts of the terminal.

If no DC is present when taking a reading, you need to open it up and find the break in the circuit. It should be a simple fix.

I'll look into that. I don't know if I'm wrong but it seems like it needs another battery in the compartment.
It says it takes 6C batteries on the back, but there is still an empty space in there once the 6 C's are in there. Like another battery could go in there but, it doesn't say.
Any ideas?

Is there a +/- terminal on this spare battery compartment and do the installed batteries make full contact between the main +/- terminals (leading to the output jack)

Jack(tip)> +C- > +C- > +C- > +C- > +C- > +C- >Jack(ring), where is the "other" battery in this equation, in circuit or out of circuit by itself?
