Or, zero out the bass and treble knobs......or at least center them. Because otherwise maybe the EQ's are adding too much on top of that?
Yes they would. But having an EQ with the controls netting out at zero is the important thing. Find the curve/shape that sounds best to you but +/_ them to equal zero. My Soundcraftsmen PE 2217R has test lights to let you know when the gain is to high or low and separate controls to balance it out. Most EQ's do not have that, but if you follow that rule your gain will be happy. Then the volume to increase level. Not the best thing to have both EQ and Bass/Treble really. Overly redundant.

I own a Yorx boombox and I'm ashamed to admit it. If the build quality is similar to it....drop it off the closet pier and watch the fish avoid it on the way down.
Looks good, but working on it is like polishing a turd. Save you time for something of quality Joe...trust me
I just got one too (for cheap, $5) . Heavy little sucker, weighs as much as my JVC 656 but oh my god it sounds like crap.! Speaker swap perhaps?
So Brutus, you live next to a very big lake . . . . . . . . ? Slather it in bacon grease and hope for a Muskie to come by !
