Should I customise this box ?

Thinking about customising an AIWA TPR-968

Its in pretty good condtion. I just think the front is ideal for a work of art because there aren't many switches / knobs etc

Would it be a crime to do a full custom job - grafitti etc. on this box ?

Any suggestions on what I should do please comment

I voted yes, but only if you've got a rockin vision for it.

Doing something willy nilly could be poor choice. It does have a decent
amount of real estate for a good design though.

Maybe something a bit Mondrian or abstract psyche art or something..? I customised a 660 which came out pretty nice with graffiti but the grilles were the large rectangular type which covered the whole speaker section.

Ive gone with yes, i think it would like good painted red or blue

Its got a lot of plain flat surface with no writing, buttons or chrome so could be a good candidate for a custom.

I'm going to spend ages working out the vision ... i want this to turn into a piece of art. I even have a professional street artist keen to do it for me.

I don't know whether to just give it colour and design like your fluro machine (it will be original of course) ... or put some cool 80's hip hop pics and logos onto it (beastie boys, run dmc etc) or something else

This is a simple box...simple elegance is what I see in a mod.

i voted no,only because i think it rocks with the looks of how it is now....quite a rare aiwa too so its just my opinion but id leave it as it is
