over the years --me , and many of us -- have prolly over-paid by THOUSANDS (yikes)
for ebay victories --
when we bid way high --and PRAYED to win -- for 1/2 $ the risky bid -- :dunce: :dunce: :-)

sometimes -- it works in our favor --and there are no last second snipe bids
----------------------------

but tonight --it worked far too well - :-O :-O
a seller --listed a set of 30 brand new///sealed cassette tapes with free shipping and a one cent
starting bid --
it was a 7 day auction --with only me a 2 other cheapo bidders :-D

so....i just won 30 tapes for thirteen CENTS !!!!! (total)
with FREE s/h

promptly --i sent the $ .13
and included a note to offer another 10 bucks for the freight -

was that fair ???? :-) :breakdance:

Wow. That should take some of the "hurt" out of the transaction for the sellers. I was right -- Ira IS too nice. :w00t:

But I sense that this might be the last 1cent - starting price auction the seller puts up.

ooops --was hoping -of ALL people ...jaetee would not ask that :-) :-)

they are all 'plain jane' TDK 90 minute -regular quality-
" type 1- high dynamic outout"
like the types you serious guys would never use -- :nonono:

but -for me --recording hours of tunes off FM -
they are fine :-D

yes they are good at what they do , not a lot of noise,

and yes, good to record stuff off the radio!

i use them extensively for that.

also use them for the boxes, though i prefer a chrome tape,

always yelds a bit more db's, which overall is noticeable.

When I saw you bought 30 tapes, I immediately thought of this auction that I've been following: [ebay]360253268954[/ebay]

It's for 30 gently used Maxell UDS-II type II chromes, with the wicked looking gold label with red text. The J-cards look great and the tapes look new in the pics. There's even a couple of plastic cases to hold them in.

These are among the most attractive "affordable" tapes ever, IMHO. And they sound pretty much like the XLII from that era as well. Anyway, I was going to bid on them, but I scored 15 brand-spankin' new Fuji ZII's for around $25 last week, so I've pretty much blown my wad for tapes this month. Plus, the Fuji ZII is easily on par with XLII-S and SA-X super chromes, so I had to take advantage of that deal. Somebody from here should buy these... :) They aren't reel-tapes, but the look fabulous in a vintage boomer and sound a lot better than those Reel-Cleer tapes!
