Shelving ideas needed. **UPDATE with Pics!!!**

Ok, so I'm in the process of moving into a bigger place and I want to display my boxes properly. Whats a cost effective method to shelve boomboxes, that is also classy nice looking??? I'm looking for something different than metal racks or plastic utility shelfs. Maybe modular? or has any one tried those leaning ladder shelfs? I like the looks but I dont think they would be able to support the weight of 5 boomboxes.
It's in an apartment so major drilling to the walls is out unfortunatley.
Any suggestions or ideas are welcome.

So I finally decided to drill holes in the walls and use an adjustable shelf system. The only cost I incured was the cost of the boards, I had the rails and supports available to me, which is awesome cause that alone would have cost a small fortune.
I set it up in the corner with some room for expandability. What I eventually would like to do is expand the bottom two tiers to form a pyramid type shape but thats for a later time.
I dont have all my boxes up just 6 for now, I would like to get another ladder shelf like the one seen to hold my medium -small sized boxes. it works well, check out the GF-8989 on there.!
Also heres some pics of my computer area.

hey Z--
the real best looking , FITTING-- and prolly the least expensive shelving --
is the custom size home-made wood racks --

the suppliers like home depot, lowes , etc all sell pine boards (cheap) -
- or cedar (more $ but looks & smells nicer)

in 8" widths --which is really 7 1/4" --

i can post some pix if you need them -
but , in the meantime, you can picture it

I know you said you didn't want metal but one of my neighbors just bought 3 of those wire metal shelving units but in black and they look really good. about $68 from walmart

As Tony said wire racks are nice. Plus, if you so desire, you can set it up to have a power strip mounted and hide the wires along the backside. Here is mine, champagne colored...

shot at a cedar custom rack --
there are 4 sets of 1/4" holes --for every vertical inch -
with wooden pegs --
so -- its all very adjustable for any now or future size collection.

the cedar needs to be waxed. painted , sanded or finished = NEVER !!!

Ira is that a kit? Who has those? (Not hijacking just asking info)...

it would cost more to just pack and SHIP $$ -- than you could make if for -

ALL you need is :
!. a cheap home type table saw
2. a 1/8 drill bit
3. a 1/4 drill bit

Hey Ira, what do you use for the lateral (side to side) support? Maybe L-brackets?

I would think that the back ( I'm sure it has one) would stiffen up the whole cabinet.
