Hello, I recently bought a Sharp WQ-T353Z Double Cassette Boombox for 5 euros from a local auction and I am looking to restore the cassette player. Everything else works as intended.

Does anyone know the size and number of belts i will need? Also, has anyone done this before and can give me any tips as it is the first time I will be attempting something like this. I found a video showing the restoration of a similar model but has not provided any information regarding the belts.

I don't see a service manual anywhere - without it you have no part numbers to cross reference. I'd try one of these...

1. Buy one of those variety packs of crappy belts to find the right fit
2. Wrap string or wire around the paths to determine the lengths (and subtract a bit to compensate for tension)
3. Reach out to those on YT/fb that restored one, maybe they'll tell you

Once you know the right sizes you can then buy good belts from a reputable source.
I wouldn't bother measuring the originals (if they haven't already disintegrated) becuase they're probably stretched out.

Thank you for your reply, i will do just that. Can you also suggest reputable sources to get belts from?

I've had good success with TurntableNeedles.com and Marvac.com.

Both of them ship internationally. Marvac also sells their belts on ebay.

Also, if you have the ability to measure the thickness of the original belts, that will help pick a belt that's not too thin or too thick. It can be difficult to determine the correct belt code for this, so if you want help just let me know.
