Nice! I noticed a difference in woofers in all 4 3500's Are those all replacements? The VZ-2000 looks like it has 2-way car speakers for sure for the woofers.

Hi to all and to answer Cpl-Chronic, yes all woofers were replaced. All but one pair had disingrated foam around their paper cones. I've still got a few pairs, unrepaired. yes car speakers, i havent heard too large a sound difference. The best speakers were harvested from a tdk boombox.

Sorry for the delay, i didnt see the notifications.

and as an uodate - Ive just got this VZ3000 to fix up, for fun, over the winter. Posed with a VZ3500 for size. I've had one before but it was beyond me to get apart and fix - hope i can do it justice this time. It turns on and makes sound, the door sticks, the audio drops out on one channel (switches, or the relay hopefully) - and it'll still be a bitch to get apart.

If anyone knows for sure the correct door belt size/can suggest a UK supplier please do tell :)

Hello, another message and update on the continuing Sharp VZ obsession

I got the VZ2000 back to fix, after the usual dirty record bar problem dropped out the left channel. And the new owner asked someone to fix it, the numpty promptly rebroke the power switch and the cassette door. Honestly.... [open the doors first!!!]

anyway so thats fixed

THEN I went and got a VZ2500. Its super clean and un-yellowed. But it sounds junk compared to the VZ2000 or the VZ3500. I have a plan...

Here's a re-union pic and a welcome to the new member of the family

extra points for the cat? :)
