Hi everyone, so I have this unit with the radio and tape deck working but no turntable. When it first came it, the door and turntable was not working when powered on, however, an audible tone (like a 1kHz CW tone) could be heard in the turntable. It was not audible anywhere else and was not controlled by volume control.
I decided to replace the door and turntable drive belt - that was a bit of effort, compared to other turntable belts. So, having replaced the belts, I again powered on and tried to open the door. Fail. I don't hear the 'click' on opening, and even when I open manually, it won't close when I push the close button. The strange 1kHz - like tone has gone, and now I have a non-working turntable. I did check microswitches, and cycled through the function switches, but nothing is solving the problem. I would appreciate any ideas, or is this turntable deceased?
