Picked up the GF-A3 today. While I was there they decided to test it for me, and surprise surprise, the tape deck didn't work. They hadn't tested it before putting it up for sale. I said that's fine, but they would not let me pay the $20 for it. They insisted I have it for nothing as a New Years gift. So there you go, it turns out to be a freebie. They were a nice family, so i hope some good karma comes there way.

The radio works, though the tuner dial and all the knobs actually give off that scratchy sound when being used. 20 odd years of dust has taken its toll. I must say though that i have been impressed with the sound. Much louder than i expected, and the graphic equalizer is good too. I've only had the volume half way and that was plenty to fill the lounge room. 5 watts a speaker she packs!

I will take it apart tomorrow to give it a clean and see what's up with the cassette function. If anyone has any tips for fixing the cassette player please let me know.

Here's some pics.

Looks like she was a good little pick up! And the price was even better.

Well played, Jeremy!

Rock On.
