I Am Legend
been lucky :angelic:  -- till now -- :sadno:
its been 5 years since i lost any big money on any ebay deal --

but --finally --i am about to take a hit ....... :'-(
----------

about a month ago - i "won " a BIG box on ebay --
a week later --the seller sent me a postal tracking number
NO insurance :dunce: :dunce:

10 days later |-)
it was not here ???

i went to my post office -
they said --they NEVER saw it ??
it would have been a huge carton --
not the type they would just lose --
or slip out of their truck !!!
and surely not forget seeing ...

i filed a claim with the postal inspectors --
because their tracking # said it was delivered to my management office at 4:44 PM -

but thats IMPOSSIBLE !!! :hmmm: :annoyed: :annoyed:
because our office closes everyday - PROMPTLY at 4 PM -
NEVER even a minute LATER !!!

10 days later --never heard from the post office

so - i tried to file a claim with ebay -
BUT --they said they would TRY to help as a " courtesy ONLY "
but --since the seller provided the tracking --
they cant really help me, much ?

in the meantime --the seller has VANISHED
" no longer a registered user "
----------------------------

at this point --this seems like a flat out LOSS

right ????????????
-----------------------

not asking you guys for a bunch of pity :-)
as --we should all accept the bad --along with alot of good -

but this sure does SUK and suk more

donations $$ are always welcome   :-D ;-)
--------------------

but --any good ideas --would be best

You got robbed, Ira. Just because they put a tracking number on a parcel, it doesn't mean it was what you actually purchased. :sadno:

I'm guessing it was from funsport612. That seller only had one feedback. If you follow the trail it gets worse.

Funsport612's only feedback came from erintenra (no longer a registered user). Erintenra's only feedback (2) came from minane281 (1) [no longer a registered user] and landuma298 (0) [no longer a registered user].

It seems to have been a scam from the start. :-/

ALL of your sad facts are correct, bobby --

do you think ebay has ANY responsibility ??

its not a matter of 'incorrect contents'-
NOTHING ever was actually delivered

so - WTF ??
how did this seller -- ( crook or not )
ever get ANY tracking number -- sending NOTHING ???

redbenjoe

I Am Legend
and asking further --

it is likely that this 'scammer' really did ship my box -
and that it was STOLEN by my post office ???

or --how could their tracking say " DELIVERED" ??

this is double freeken freakky :annoyed: :annoyed:

What bothers me about this whole process is this: if Bobby can get all this info on an obvious fraudulent seller then why can't ebay do the same to protect there buyers? I for one have never been ripped off (yet) by an ebay seller but will expect more from ebay than what they are doing for you. I hope you are able to get your money back Ira...this truly sucks!!

You can certainly plead your case with them and show them it was apparently a scam from the beginning. Heck, eBay might have discovered it was a scam and shut them down thereby showing the "user no longer registered". If that's the case, I believe eBay / PayPal should refund your money immediately!

Ira, if it makes you feel any better...i will make a long story short and briefly explain what happened to my friend years back :-)

My friend had purchased a set of new ``not yet released`prototype wheels for his newly aquired Honda S-2000...for $2500+USD. The listing was written in a way that somehow it was worded in a sneaky way as only ``pictures``...the seller shipped the pictures of the wheels, in a registered envelope in which he signed for :nonono: He tried to get his money back from e-Bay/PAYPAL...NO LUCK AT ALL...But...since his Paypal account was linked to his credit card...he was re-imbursed the full amount through the credit card company as it was clearly a `fraudulent`` sale by the seller. I hope this helps you, or at least makes you feel better ;-)

 Ira as a deer friend I mine I really feel terrible this has happen to you. It pisses me off there are low life out there creating more ways to scam fantastic members here. I really hope you get your $$ back and watch out for 0 feedback sellers, And investigate how long a 0 feedback member has been registered.
I can't figure out how ebay makes top $$ on fees off sellers and can't and don't protect the buyers. I guess ebay is all about the $$ and fuk the buyers. Sorry folks but this burns me up. In life what goes around comes around. He will get his Ira. God Bless my friend.

I got ripped of buy an eBay once
Was told to report it to the FBI fraud people
Six month later they emailed me to say I had to come in a sign for the release of the money and goods
I told them I was in Australia and was not visiting the states anytime soon
2 weeks later a email saying I need to go to Perth central to sign for the release of the money so I did and yes $645 was in my hand
2 weeks later a phone call from the cops I needed to come a pick up my conferscated items
Wtf
So I did and there was the star wars stuff I had brought
But wait. There was 2 figures missing wtf and I hadnot payed for it
So i emailed the FBI bloke and he said he was a collector too and needed those 2figures but not the rest so I could keep them
Wtf so who's the criminal now
And I still have those star wars toy to this day
Oh this only happened a few years ago

If there is a tracking number the postal system should have the size of the carton registered on their system, if you can get that info Paypal might side with you as you could prove the postage size was below the unit size.

I am guessing they sent a empty envelope or something to that effect.

This really sucks Ira! But what i find the most strange from this whole story is that there did seems to be something delivered..but what that something was is not sure. I really hopefor you that there wasnt to much cash involved! Good luck overthere!

Bummer.....

I have always had good luck calling paypal and ebay services. It helps push the settlement faster and usually in your favor if you have all your ducks-in-a-row  .

Good luck.
