I recently have noticed that I get away from my hobby domino toppling more and more and I barely touch my dominoes...
It has been my passion since 2001 and somehow i don't want to give it up. I have 30,000 dominoes right now and I am thinking about selling 10,000...
I am not a no-life guy who makes his decisions from internet forums but I would be happy about your opinion

Do 30,000 dominoes take up a lot of room? How hard is it to get more if you need them, and are they worth reselling?
You reached a hell of an acomplishment by breaking a world record. I would answer these questions before selling.

That is good advice, MZ. :-)

Hey Max, your username makes much more sense now. You should do a setup with boomboxes and dominoes and film it for us. :-)

Keep the dominos until you do the boombox setup. That would be kick ass! I just watched all your vids on your site, congrats on the awards!

Great idea! That would be a really cool way to transition hobbies....

I'm not sure about sell vs. not... I can see why that's a tough decision... You must ask yourself what more you wish to achieve with dominos?

30k is A LOT of dominos!!!! And I bet they are HEAVY!

And if they were used in a documented world record, might they have some added value to domino collectors?? (assuing there are any out there)

mmcodomino,

I don't have a definite answer, but I have two (contradictory) thoughts:

1. As a child, I collected several things: coins, stamps, Matchbox toy cars. Sometimes I think it would be fun if I still had those old collections;

2. Sometimes a person needs to get rid of something old to make way for something new (both literally and metaphorically).

In the end, the decision is yours, of course.

Hey guys,

thanks for all your nice thoughts!
I have decided to sell some eventually but not give up the hobby after all.
And there is going to be a falldown about boomboxes soon ;-) Check out this fieldplan:

i have often noticed in my own personal experience that if i have to struggle when deciding to sell something at some point in the future i regret doing so.

:agree: I've been through this a few times and the outcome is always regret. As long as you can get past it after a while it's not so bad but you will still look back and say I shouldn't have done that.

yeah have had some of the rarest synthesisers under the sun but because i could get a wad of cash for them i sold a ton of them.
i even had a serge modular that came out of the university up here i got for two hundred bucks.
when the dude was flashing ten times that ammount in my face i just could not pass it up.
when it was gone it was gone and well i was pretty happy with the cash and buying new stuff but in the years following i have lusted for that synth and there is no way in hell i am going to be able to shell out the ten grand they go for now.
