I once had a black, 1986 Escort GT. The Escort was a lovely car in its time. Good luck with the auction!

EDIT:
I just now noticed the mileage!! You only have 107,000 on the odometer?

It's unique to me how the Escort was in other Countries versus the US. It's a completely different car in the US

Yep, US got stuck with low-powered cars during the 80s
Same with the Fiesta, GTI, RX7, 240SX, Corolla, and lots of Euro cars

Quite a rare beast on UK roads now, looks to be worth what you're asking too, in nice original condition, which is a rare thing these days too!

We still have LOTS of them riding in Brazil (in many versions since 80s to 2000s).
l'm a really FAN of that "Little Fords"... ...have myself a 2000s Ford Fiesta with 260.000km and still Rocks!!

Lovely Escort, soon this one will find a new lucky owner...

Cheers.

Hey Guys, thanks for all the positive comments.
Will be a bit sad to it go but I just don't use it, if I had a lock up I would probably keep it forever.

We had an '89. Put a glut on miles on that thing!

Good luck with the sale

Just to complete the story, the car sold to the first viewer.
I came down a small amount from the asking price but myself and the buyer were happy with the result.

It was a bit strange seeing it loaded up on somebody else's trailer but I soon got over it. It actually felt somewhat of a relief for the whole, ownership, upkeep, repair and then finally selling process, to be over with.

On to other things :w00t:

I couldn't help but raise a smile when I saw the cassettes, proudly sat in their holder, ready to select from the choice on display - ah, the memories warmly flow back like it was only yesterday. I mean, tossing a couple of memory sticks somewhere just doesn't cut it with me.

The trouble is I left my "BBC Sporting Classics" cassette in the Escort, oh well, a free gift for the new owner :-D

Back in the 90's my wife brought her 1990 Escort from Germany to the States. The 4-speed manual and that 1.9L, I couldn't touch it with my 1991 16v GTI. Her car would do 60 in 2nd gear with no engine stress, we took it to sea level (Michigan) and I swear I couldn't start from a stop without squeelching the front tires.

BTW Alan, your guy's Cosworth's are bringing 60-70K over here in the States.
