There seems to be a variation on the colour of the keys.
It’s a pity that there is no line-in on any version of this mini including the blue Japanese ones.

Yes. I see the M7850 has gold cassette player keys. I'd love to see a side by side comparison if anyone owns both. I see there are Mic inputs. Maybe those could be used as line ins somehow, lol

Mic inputs usually provide horrible sound. You're better off using the "REC/PB" input with a DIN cable. but you'll need to press Rec/Play to hear the music and see the LED's move.

I use an FM transmitter that I plug my phone into. What's cool about it is I can have several boomboxes all playing the same music at once.

It looks like this one. Not sure if the model is exactly the same: https://www.amazon.com/Signstek-Broadcast-Transmitter-Antenna-Fashion/dp/B00CM2VPMQ/ref=sr_1_33_sspa?ie=UTF8&qid=1524068467&sr=8-33-spons&keywords=fm+transmitter+whole+house&psc=1

So I guess other than the gold keys there's not much difference between them?

The funny thing is, I've seen some 7900's with gold keys and others with chrome keys.

Uhg that figures. The 7850 I'm getting has gold keys. I guess no one who's read this so far owns both, lol

So I guess there’s no mechanical or electronic difference between the two? Wattage differences? Anything?
