This starts very well indeed, I was on Ebay at work during my lunch and found a Sanyo M7830 just been listed described as in very good condition and fully working start price £20.99, decided to ask the seller if he had a BIN price in mind said he hadn't, but if I made an offer and he thought it was fair he would sell at that price.
So I made a very low offer of £45 and to my surprise he said it was fair made the listing a BIN and of course I bought it, unbelievable a very nice M7830 for so little.
Here's the listing.

The packing was very poor, this must be a crime, I am gutted.
One end is not too badly damaged and will repair fairly eaisily , but the smashed end
will take some effort to make good, but can be done I think.
I amost cried

I think many of us here would say send it here, and we'll give you ALL of the 45 you paid plus all shipping. In other words, still a keeper.

Damn! What a fantastic deal on that rare gem. It is a shame that damage was incurred, but... with patience and a steady hand, you can restore those areas back to new. We've seen worse damage with excellent results, so there is hope.

Thanks for the words of encouragement about the repair, and yeah definately a keeper even left as is, it is still fully working and sounds great amazing bass, I'm pretty sure I can rebuild the damage. A little bit of good news the seller is willing to give a full refund and I keep the Sanyo.

Well that really s--ks   For some odd reason there seems to be an abundant amount of damaged bbx's happening due to poor packing :hmmm: I just won a small box on ebay the other day and with my payment I asked seller to please package carefully because the bbx is almost 30 years old and can damage easily...His response was to check his feedback, so I did, and not in any of his feedback was it mentioned about A+++ packing :sadno: Sorry to have gone off track on this one...Good luck with the repairs

Although quite tempting, I personally wouldn't feel right asking for a full refund, but I would pursue a partial refund.

To be honest I haven't asked the seller for any refund, I sent him the pictures of the damage and asked what he wanted to do, he replied "I will have to make a claim with the delivery company but everything being equal should have a full refund available"
I will wait and see what happens, I am not really expecting to get the full amount back but if it comes from the courier thats different. If any refund is coming from the seller then i would only ask for a partial anyway.

Be careful with courier refunds. If the item was insured and the courier decides to issue a full refund, they will most likely take the Sanyo back and trash it.
